We are recruiting for a forward thinking, caring, proactive and dynamic EYFS practitioner. We need a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work in a nursery to support children below 4 years old. The role is in an environment that are happy to promote new ideas, and be ready to have an innovative approach to childhood development, and allow children to be free to explore their boundaries and perceptions, so the ideal candidate will need to follow the children wherever their imaginations may lead.
Qualification Required
The perfect candidates must possess a level 3 qualification in childhood or childcare, or education studies, or similar relevant qualification.
Skills
The correct candidate will have experience in the following:
- Planning and observation of Early Years children to support and push deveolpment and progress
- Using IT based progression tools, such as Ipads, Tablets and computers to record their progress through pictures and videos (EG. Tapestry)
- Realising child development through observation and assessment
- Experience in Personal Care side of Nurturing Children (though the role is not heavy in demand for this, it may be needed)
Other skills that would be desirable would be:
- Skills appropriate to Speech and Language therapy or development
- Energetic and Vibrant approach to Childcare
- Caring and Nurturing personality
- Skills in Speaking and Listening observation
- A happy and fun persona to match the feel of the environment
The Role
The day to day activity will be centred around a small group of children in your main responsibility as part of a team supporting a larger group of children. As the Nursery Class Assistant you will engage the children in daily activities that will strengthen progression and monitor progress, and as a result do plan your day with a view to pushing their development in line with expectations and abilities. Behaviour in the room is overall goo and its a very positve environment, basic behaviour management skills will be required to maintain this. Using your caring, loving and passionate approach, you will provide the children with a safe and happy place in which to explore their own abilities, feeling included and valued along the way.
