Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for recent Psychology Graduates to join our client school in Tameside as SEN Teaching Assistants.
This position will be full time, starting in September at the start of the academic year. The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week, dependent on the requirements from the school.
For this position, you must obtain a fully enhanced DBS check, you will also need to provide at least two academic references, covering the last two years of your work history.
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- Supporting young people with special needs, specifically you will be working with pupils who have autism.
- You must understand the issues that can be caused by autism and the impact that it can have on a pupil’s educational development.
- You will work on a one-to-one basis with pupils or within small groups so that you are able to support the pupils academically and emotionally.
- At times, difficult behaviour may be shown, it will be your responsibility to ensure that this is managed.
The school is located in Tameside, it will be easy to commute to from the surrounding areas of Ashton-Under-Lyne, Dukinfield and Openshaw. It currently has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. The school is performing slightly below the local average. The proportion of pupils who are eligible for free school meals is much higher than the national average. Overall, the school has a good working environment and minimal behavioural issues.
Throughout this position, you will be supported by Teaching Personnel, there will be opportunities to progress onto other positions in the Tameside area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
