Experienced TA Required for Nursery

Are you a Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education? Teaching Personnel work with a lovely nursery in Portsmouth who are looking for qualified Teaching Assistants for supply cover on a regular basis.

The school offer integrated education and care for pupils from as young as a few months old to 5 years old, and there is a mix of mainstream and Special Needs children. This includes some children with Moderate Learning Difficulties as well as Complex needs such as children with Cerebral Palsy, downs syndrome, and non-verbal children.

The ideal candidate:

- Must have previous experience working with young children, and have had exposure to working with Special Needs children

- Level 3 Qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education. Level 2 will also be considered

- First Aid trained will be beneficial

- Knowledge of Makaton

- Have the ability to use their initiative

- Be able to multitask and have the flexibility to help in a variety of situations, with different ages and classes

- Be happy to work in small groups and on a one to one basis

This is a lovely school, with friendly staff and a happy environment. Getting involved with the pupils and staff from the get-go, and a genuine interest in Special Needs is a must.

Those interested will be welcome to spend a trial day at the school, upon undergoing a vetting process. Teaching Personnel have various other positions that we receive regularly for a TA in SEN schools, so there is an opportunity to work at many schools in your area, both on day to day supply and long term placements.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
