Job description

Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Tilbury

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to Unaccompained Asylum Seeker Children or refugees
  • Develop lesson plans and materials tailored to the needs of individual learners
  • Assess students' language skills and progress regularly
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to support their language development
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive learning experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Specialisation in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of language acquisition principles

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • Prior experience teaching ESOL to diverse groups of learners
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ESOL teaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the varying needs of students
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in TESL or related field
  • Certification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
