Job description

Job Title: ESOL Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Greys

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £25 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in outreach settings
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of UASC learners
  • Assess the English language proficiency of UASC students and track their progress
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to UASC students to enhance their language skills
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to UASC education

Required Qualifications:

  • TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or equivalent certification
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable populations
  • Knowledge of ESOL teaching methodologies and best practises
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Proven experience in teaching ESOL to diverse student populations
  • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by UASC learners
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of UASC students

Working Conditions:

  • This is a temporary position with part-time hours
  • The role involves working in various outreach locations within the East of England (learners homes or local libraries)
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate the needs of UASC students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
