Job description

Are you an experience Teacher or tutor of English looking to support pupils in a small group or 1:1 capacity?

Teaching Personnel have been asked by a number of partner schools in the Gateshead and Durham area to begin recruiting individuals who are able to tutor pupils in English Literature or Language. As a result of the Coronavirus, many children's education has undoubtedly suffered and now schools are aiming to rectify this by providing additional support through a network of Tutors.

The role will include:

  • Planning sessions for up to 6 students 
  • A mixture of hourly, morning and afternoon sessions with different pupils
  • Developing exam technique via specific exam boards
  • Tutor a mixture of low, middle and higher attaining pupils
  • Ultimate goal is to raise their attainment levels to pre-Covid expectations

Successful Candidates will likely have:

  • A formal qualification in either English, English Language of English Literature
  • Experience teaching or tutoring pupils of a secondary age
  • A Child workforce only Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
