English Tutor – Bolton

A smaller than average secondary school in Bolton, close to Westhoughton, are currently seeking the support a English Tutor on flexible temporary basis who tutorlooked after pupils to help raise attainment in English Language and Literature, starting ASAP.

The school are looking to recruit a focused and determined English Tutor to work with identified pupils who are struggling to reach their target grade in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) English Language and Literature. 

As an English Tutor, you will provide interventional support to pupils in smaller groups and on 1:1 when required. This is mostly take place in a different classroom in order to increase engagement and attainment in the subject of English. 

Key Aspects of the English Tutor role:

-          Flexible English Tuition at a Secondary School in Bolton, also accessible from Wigan.

-          Primarily supporting pupils from a looked after background

-          Starting ASAP on a flexible, temporary basis (e.g. couple of days or hours a week)

-          Providing tailored tuition for KS3 and KS4 English (Language and Literature) to prepare pupils for upcoming exams

-          Planning sessions in line with where the support is needed with guidance from the school

-          Have a flexible and adaptable approach to learning

-          Paid GBP10-25 per hour, depending on experience and levels of qualification

The successful candidate for the role of English Tutor will have excellent subject knowledge of the current Secondary English curriculum and able to support with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English. You will be experienced or confident in proving tuition, whether it be from a teaching career, tutoring or hold a degree in English.
