Job description

English Tutor – Middleton (M24)

TP Tutors is looking for engaging and committed English Tutors to support pupils across Middleton (M24) who need a helping hand with reading, writing, and communication.

You’ll work with learners who may have fallen behind, lost confidence, or are currently learning outside mainstream education. Your sessions will focus on building key literacy skills and helping pupils rediscover their enthusiasm for English — from creative writing to grammar, comprehension, and exam preparation.

Tuition is delivered face-to-face, either in pupils’ homes or community settings such as libraries. Each session is tailored to the learner’s individual needs and pace, ensuring progress feels achievable and rewarding.

We’re looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience teaching or tutoring English (QTS preferred but not essential)

  • Can plan engaging, personalised lessons that meet different learning needs

  • Are confident, patient, and adaptable

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS or are willing to apply for one

In return, TP Tutors offers:

  • Pay between £25–£30 per hour

  • Flexible working hours during the school day

  • Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella company fees

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
