English Tutor – Support SEMH Learners with Compassion and Flexibility
Pay Rate: £25 – £35 per hour (depending on experience and location)
Are you a skilled English teacher or tutor who’s passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives? We’re looking for a committed English Tutor to work 1:1 with pupils from KS2 to KS4 who face Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
Your Responsibilities:

Deliver bespoke English lessons in home or community-based settings

Adapt your teaching style to meet individual emotional and learning needs

Support pupils who may be disengaged, anxious, or managing complex life circumstances

Take full responsibility for managing your own diary and travel within the local area

Help learners build confidence in literacy and progress at their own pace
Requirements:
-
QTS preferred, or a UK teaching qualification with significant experience
-
Strong background working with pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs
-
Flexible, empathetic, and committed to learner-focused education
-
Confident delivering English up to GCSE (KS4) level
-
Willing to travel locally and adapt to varied home/community environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
