Job Title: English Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to students in the English language
  • Develop customised lesson plans based on individual student needs
  • Assist students in improving their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
  • Conduct assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their English proficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an English tutor or teacher
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Proficiency in the English language

Education:

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching English

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of English language structure, grammar, and syntax
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in the learning process
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and resources

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TEFL or TESOL certification
  • Experience teaching English as a second language
  • Experience working with students of different age groups

Working Conditions:

The English Tutor will work in a classroom or tutoring centre setting, interacting with students on a one-on-one basis. The work schedule is typically full-time during regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend sessions depending on student availability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
