Graduate teaching assistant of English - upper ks2

  • Calling all English Graduates who wan a career in education
  • Salford primary school looking for English small group support
  • Work with identified children who need literacy support

Are you a graduate of English with classroom based experience?

Do you have a strong academic background and aspirations to become primary teacher in the future?

A primary school in the Swinton area of Salford are currently looking to recruit a confident and outgoing graduate of English for a learning mentor (teaching assistant) role on a full time basis. This opportunity has become available due to the schools desire to increase their English SATS results next academic year. As a teaching assistant, you will be expected to fulfil a range of responsibilities, including taking guidance and supporting class teachers, working one to one with targeted pupils and offering small group support, preparing resources for lessons and developing an understand of sub levels and methods to improve children’s attainment.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be/have the following:

*A degree in English language or literature and a good academic record

*Experience working in a classroom supporting pupils within English

*Confidence and commitment to working as a teaching assistant

*Knowledge of Key Stage 2 curriculum and SATS

*Be available for September 2016

The school is slightly above average in size and is located in a culturally diverse catchment area of Salford.The school has a very average number of children that speak English as an additional language and the school find graduate English teaching assistants a lot more engaging for these children.
