English teacher - Sunderland

Are you a qualified, experienced English teacher looking to take on a new role in Secondary education? Are you passionate about developing young minds? If so, we may have the perfect role for you!

One of our client schools in Sunderland is currently seeking a candidate to cover English classes up to KS4 from September onwards; it is noteworthy that there is a strong likelihood the contract will be extended if the teacher's sick note continues.

At Teaching Personnel, we pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with schools throughout the region, and have an increasing demand for English teachers; therefore NQTs are strongly encouraged to apply, as the school are happy to trial some new faces.

  • Role commencing in September
  • Delivering the English curriculum to Key Stages 3&4, ensuring that students steadily progress in their studies
  • Pay rates ranging from ÂŁ600 to ÂŁ800 a week
  • Possibility of being offered a fixed-term contract (at the discretion of the school)
  • Producing assessments and classwork to evaluate the progression of students, formulating steps to take to ensure each student achieves their targets

We have a range of roles to suit the needs of every individual; whether you are a retired teacher, looking to fill time with casual work, or a recently-qualified graduate wanting to extend your teaching portfolio, you can rely upon us to place you in the relevant position! When you register to work with us, you can take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Gaining crucial experience to boost your CV-which is highly useful to individuals who have recently completed a PGCE, as well as individuals looking to take on more authority
  • Working with the leading recruitment agency in the UK-with access to the Catholic Schools Recruitment Partnership
  • Opportunities to experience working in secondary education and grow vital skills
  • Great rates of pay
  • Access to ongoing CPD through our CPD Academy
  • Regular work to suit your personal preferences-with consideration towards circumstance and location
  • NQTs welcome

If you are interested in being considered for this role, or to find out about any other opportunities we may have please get in touch with Leyla on 0191 223 5074 or via email at
