English Teacher
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
I am currently working with a secondary school in Welwyn Garden City who require a full time English teacher in September to teach predominantly KS3.
This school is a fantastic place to work with supportive SLT in place, frequent CPD opportunities and off curriculum days and staff team building exercises.
At the school across KS3 students study a range of texts from Harry Potter to a Midsummer Nights Dream.
The successful Teacher will need to have a good track record of planning and delivering English lessons at Key Stage 3 (KS3) & Key Stage 4 (KS4). Having experience in a second subject would be advantageous but not essential. If you have a natural ability to inspire pupils to become independent learners apply now.
The department is a strong team, who believe in strong working relationships among colleagues and are therefore extremely supportive to all staff members. Whilst this is not a full planning role you will be expected to help prepare work at times, the department are really looking for an inspiring Teacher who is able to support and engage students during the duration of this contract.
Although this is a temporary contract there may be scope for a longer term position within the department for the right candidate.
To be a successful teacher for this role you will need to;
- Be Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) or have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PGCE, GTP, Bachelor of Education (BA Ed.), QTLS
- Passion for teaching and education
- Have a creative approach to teaching
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Passion for supporting students in their learning
- Possess ambition and drive to become an outstanding class-room practitioner
- Excellent communication and lesson delivery skills
- A hard work ethic
