SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you interested in working in a progressive, lively and successful school in a rewarding field of education?

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a fantastic SEN School based in Southampton, who are looking for a motivated psychology graduate to join them this September for the academic year, 2022/23. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain hands on practical experience working with pupils with special needs.

About the job

As a Graduate teaching assistant, your role is to support the children with their learning and general wellbeing to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment.

We are looking for someone who is patient and able to implement school strategies and deal with occurrences of challenging behavior.

Ideal Graduate

  • Have / predicted a psychology degree with a 2:2 or above
  • Be passionate about working with pupils who have special educational needs
  • Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people
  • Be able to inspire and motive young learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An effective role model that sets high expectations and motivates the pupils to achieve

The opportunity

  • SEN school in Southampton
  • Full-time role, Monday - Friday – Starts September 2022 (term time)
  • Chance to gain invaluable classroom experience before teacher training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
