A good Catholic School in Barnet are seeking a head of English to start in September.

The school has a long tradition of providing outstanding Catholic education – our academic results also continue to improve year on year and are consistently above national averages. In 2016, for example, the GCSE results placed the school in the top 8% of all state schools nationally and 54% of our A level results were at grade B or above. The school also has a rich sporting and dramatic heritage putting great store in extra curricular activities. The Role:

You will be responsible for all aspects of academic achievement within the English department. In reality the job is one of keeping a good ship on course. The current staff are well grounded in the school, highly motivated and have ambition for themselves and their students. Your own teaching time table will be relatively light and you will be given the option to focus on the classes and aspects of the role as you see fit.

Ideal candidate:

Has 2 i/c or HOD experience

A proven track record of raising academic attainment

Experience working in a faith school

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
