English Teacher

  • Full-time English teaching position - ASAP starting date
  • Employment for the remainder of the year with a permanent contract likely if successful over the initial temporary period.
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS Scale - £23,720 - £39,406
  • School open to applications from Newly Qualified English teachers and experienced English teachers

The school wish to appoint a full-time English teacher as a matter of urgency to fill a staffing gap within the schools English teaching faculty. The school are offering employment to the incoming candidate for the remainder of the academic year however if successful over this period their will be an opportunity to earn a permanent position.

As an English teacher within our client Secondary school, you will be expected to deliver a range of carefully crafted schemes of work that cover the three skill areas of: Reading, Writing and Speaking & Listening. These schemes of work focus around a variety of different texts and writing skills. Your learners will be regularly assessed across the skill areas, using a range of Assessment Objectives, and will have two summative assessments aimed at preparing pupils for their GCSE examinations.

Our client Secondary school is a supportive environment that believes in regular training for their teachers and departmental reviews. With this in mind, the Head of English is considering applications from NQT's as well as more experienced English teachers.

  • The school is smaller than the average sized Secondary school which offers excellent focus on raising attainment for their pupils
  • The class sizes are small which allows teachers to enhance the learning opportunities for the pupils.
  • In their most recent Ofsted report, the school was commended for the support the Senior Leadership Team gives to all staff which cultivates a high standard of teaching.
  • It also highlighted that the pupils behave well and have a positive attitude to learning.
  • The school is located very close to the surrounding areas of Leigh and Tyldesley which offers excellent transport links to Bolton as well as the Wigan borough.
