English Teacher

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of education recruitment in the UK, are working in partnership with a secondary school in Trafford who are seeking a English Teacher to join them from September 2019.

The English Teacher role will involve teaching English Language and Literature to Key stage 3 and 4 students, with a range of different academic abilities, up to GCSE level. Teaching the English AQA Curriculum, so previous experience teaching the AQA curriculum is desirable.

  • Full time English Teacher required from September 2019
  • Permanent gap in the department, although temporary contract at first
  • 'Outstanding', Ofsted rated school
  • Teaching English Literature and Language up to GCSE level
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (£23,720-£39,406)

The Outstanding Secondary school is located South Manchester in Trafford, with excellent transport links close by making the school easily accessible. At our client's secondary School creativity and innovation are central to the school ethos. They believe the arts are intrinsically valuable, helping young people to build purposeful and fulfilling lives and can be used as a means to motivate, inspire and improve self esteem.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • evidence of good quality teaching and subject knowledge
  • an understanding of how to use assessment to inform planning for excellent teaching and learning
  • the ability to differentiate materials to meet the needs of the learners
  • evidence of good behaviour management skills
  • a willingness to contribute to enrichment activities
  • experience teaching all three disciplines of Science up to KS4 (although there is an opportunity to teach within specialism at GCSE level)
