English Teacher – Secondary School – Full-Time – September 2025 Start
Location: Stockport
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: £150 – £220 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-perm opportunity

Teaching Personnel is working with a well-regarded, inclusive secondary school in Stockport to appoint a dynamic and skilled English teacher to join their team in September 2025. The school boasts a supportive SLT, excellent student behaviour, and a strong emphasis on both academic and personal development.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Delivering engaging English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students across a broad and diverse curriculum

Using varied teaching strategies to develop students’ reading comprehension, analytical thinking, and writing skills
-
Preparing students for GCSE exams, with a focus on both literature and language
-
Creating a classroom environment that encourages participation, discussion, and high achievement
-
Monitoring and assessing student progress regularly, adapting lessons to meet individual needs
-
Working closely with colleagues in the English department to plan schemes of work and share best practice
Ideal Candidate Profile:
-
UK QTS or equivalent English teaching qualification
-
Recent experience teaching English in a UK secondary school (including placements for ECTs)

A passion for literature and language, and a belief in the value of English in shaping future success

Skilled in managing behaviour and motivating students of varying abilities
-
Committed to inclusion, high standards, and professional growth

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
