English teacher required to cover maternity leave from September 2019

Teaching Personnel are excited to be working alongside one of their partner schools in securing an English teacher for a maternity cover for the upcoming academic year. Please see highlights below and further information.

Details of the school

Our client is a large, modern secondary school situated in Manchester, serving a rich and diverse catchment area with students attending from all across the borough. A large number of students come from minority ethnic backgrounds and a number of students do not speak English as their first language, so previous experience working with similar students would be beneficial in engaging students in English lessons. Behaviour was judged to be Good in the most recent Ofsted inspection and results are improving consistently.

Requirements for position

As this position is a specialist English teaching position, the school require applicants to have a PGCE or a relevant teaching based qualification specialising in English, along with previous experience teaching at KS3 and GCSE. The school have no preference for levels of experience providing applicants are confident and skilled practitioners.
