We are seeking a passionate Teacher of English to join us in a secondary school in Croydon. We support our students to become conscientious, high-achieving individuals, who are enriched by the opportunities we provide for them to discover their talents and passions.
Following a thorough introduction to the school, your duties will include:
• Preparing, planning and assessing teaching sessions whilst maintaining an awareness of curriculum developments
•Writing and implement individual education plans, making assessments of educational attainment, setting challenging yet achievable targets
• Build relationships with all young people, which will encourage their interest and participation in their education
• Creating an environment which is stimulating and purposeful for all pupils to promote teaching and learning outside the formal classroom settings Requirements
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status/ QTLS
• Have a background of teaching English at a secondary level, delivering teaching at a good or outstanding level
• Knowledge of current education issues in relation to terms of practise, process and curriculum
- Have a passionate and creative nature, and have a strong presence in the classroom The school is relatively small, and therefore each department in the school are made up of 1 to 3 members of staff.
This role is suitable for ECTs, as they will be considered as long as you have a strong presence in the classroom. The English department is made up of 3 teachers, therefore you must be able to hit the ground running to continue the school’s excellent reputation. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
