Position Details:
*Role: English Teacher
*Location: Cranborne, Dorset
*Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
*Salary: Competitive, based on experience
*Working Hours: 40 hours per week

The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to young people aged 11-16 who are dealing with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders, and mental health needs.

Requirements:
*A PGCE, QTS, QTLS teaching qualification, and evidence of in-service training are essential.
*The capability to teach from Entry level 2 & 3, Functional Skills Level 1 & 2, and GCSEs in English and one other subject to GCSE level.
*A background in a school setting, preferably within specialist education, is desirable.
*The ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Strong teaching and communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
*Competency in planning, preparation, recording, and reviewing students’ progress.
*Proficiency in IT and an understanding of its use in supporting learning.
*The capacity to remain composed and reflective in challenging situations.
*Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
*The skill to engage students in positive, enabling relationships.

Responsibilities:
*Contributing to the curriculum's delivery and development, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
*Collaborating with staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Utilizing short-, medium-, and long-term plans in curriculum delivery.
*Setting, monitoring, and reviewing personalized targets to optimize each individual's learning.
*Contributing to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
*Providing structured lessons that maintain pace, motivation, and challenge.
*Assisting in the curriculum offer development.
*Maintaining awareness of current issues in the field of autism for effective teaching and learning planning.
*Managing a delegated budget as required.
