Job description

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher with QTS to join a highly supportive and forward-thinking setting in Christchurch.

This is a full-time role with an immediate start, teaching students aged 11 to 16. For the right candidate, this position has the potential to become permanent, as the setting is keen to invest in a strong, committed member of staff.

Working hours are typically 8.30am to 3pm, with some weekday end times varying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons

  • Implement strong behaviour management strategies consistently

  • Support pupils’ academic progress and personal development

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and leadership


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Minimum 6 months of childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN needs

  • Confident behaviour management and calm classroom presence

  • Commitment to full-time work and safeguarding standards

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
