Job description

English Teacher – KS3 & KS4 (Poole | Start ASAP)

A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about language, literature and helping students find their voice.

The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ reading, writing and analytical skills. The school values creativity in the classroom and encourages teachers to bring texts to life while maintaining high expectations for progress and behaviour.

This role would suit an English specialist who is confident teaching a range of abilities and who enjoys building positive relationships with students. Whether an experienced teacher or an ECT, the school is keen to welcome someone who is reflective, organised and committed to high-quality teaching and learning.

The school is looking for someone who:

  • Can teach English across KS3 and KS4

  • Creates engaging and structured lessons

  • Has strong classroom presence and behaviour management

  • Works well as part of a collaborative department

This role is available to start ASAP and is based in Poole.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
