English Teacher

Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for English and keen to support children in removing barriers for learning?

Well… Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with the headteacher of a specialist for provision children who struggle to achieve within a mainstream setting in Burnley (BB12). This provision carers for children aged 11-16, in addition to teaching the children the core curriculum they aim to equip them with the skills for their future working lives.

The role of the English teacher will be based in KS3 – KS4 classroom setting. It will involve delivering an enriched, engaging curriculum. The lessons will be differentiated to meet the needs of the children.

What are we looking for?

  • An ability to deliver English to KS3 and KS4 pupils, including Functional Skills and GCSE.
  • An ability to offer broader curriculum elements, particularly non-core subjects.
  • An ability to work with pupils with high levels of SEMH needs, based around CSE and ACEs.
  • Experience of classroom management, planning and assessment.
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.

This role will be on a full-time basis and is due to start in September. The pay scale for this role ranges from £130 - £160 p/day (dependant on experience). The Headteacher is looking to interview applicants with 2 years+ experience as an English Teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
