Are you a dedicated and passionate English Teacher seeking an exciting opportunity to teach in an outstanding school? Look no further! Our highly regarded school in Bournemouth, rated outstanding by Ofsted, is currently recruiting for a talented individual to join our team as a permanent full-time English Teacher, starting in January 2024.

The Role:

As an English Teacher at our school, you will play a crucial role in inspiring students to develop a love for literature, language, and effective communication. You will be responsible for teaching English to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore literature and enhance their language proficiency.
  • Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students in their literary and linguistic journey.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to support their language and writing development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive and effective English curriculum.
  • Contribute to literary events, writing clubs, and extracurricular activities to further enrich students' English language experiences.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support student progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related discipline.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (GCSE and A-level experience preferred).
  • Passion for teaching English and inspiring students to engage with literature and develop strong communication skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the school's continued success.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary on the M1 to UPS3 pay scale, commensurate with qualifications and experience. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
