Teaching Personnel are currently looking for English Graduate Teaching Assistants who have aspirations of becoming a teacher!

On behalf of an 'outstanding' secondary school in Warrington, we would like to support the successful candidates in gaining invaluable experience as an English graduate teaching assistant and have the opportunity to progress on to the school's 'Future Teachers' training programme. You will begin your journey to teaching as a Teaching Assistant with the school in 2019 and upon successful completion will begin the full training programme from September 2020.

The Future Teachers programme allows graduates to secure employment as a teaching assistant following the completion of a degree, as well as earning a progressive route onto a teacher training programme with a lead training school in Warrington.

Highlights of the English Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Full time English Graduate Teaching Assistant role for 12 months - Followed by an introduction to a SCITT programme at a Warrington based secondary school
  • Working as an English teaching assistant from September 2019 - 2020
  • Earn up to £1200 a month for the first year whilst gaining essential and invaluable experience as a teaching assistant
  • Opportunity to complete a teacher training programme with the school upon successful completion
  • Applicants must hold an English degree or be in the final year of completing one.

As an English graduate teaching assistant, you will be a positive learning mentor for pupils aged 11-16. Responsibilities will include assisting the class teacher with a range of KS3 and KS4 lessons and you will support pupils with English intervention sessions in smaller groups or on a 1-1 basis, in preparation for the summer examinations.

The successful English graduates will be joining an outstanding, vibrant and dedicated support team at a high achieving secondary school in Warrington. You will be given full guidance and direction by the school and you will be briefed on your responsibilities every morning. This is a secondary school Teaching Personnel work very close with for all their staffing needs and feedback on the school's working environment is consistently positive.

With regards to location, the school is accessible for drivers via the M6, M56 and the M62 and for non-drivers via local public transport links from in and around Warrington. The school offers a large, onsite car park for members of staff.
