Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large RC Secondary school in the Moston area of North Manchester. The school are currently recruiting for a team of English Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their English department, on both full time and part time basis.

Are you wishing to pursue a career in English teaching in the future? Do you have the confidence to lead lessons and support pupils during classes?

The position:

  • Full time and Part time English Graduates required
  • Supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in the English department
  • Covering English lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working directly alongside the English teachers to develop activities
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE

The school wish to appoint English Graduate Teaching Assistants with immediate effect in order to implement support in the English department prior to the examination period. All English Graduate Teaching Assistant positions will initially be offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract following this.

With 1,300 pupils on roll, the school is significantly larger than average and due to this; new building work is taking place to improve the English department. Due to the diverse demographics of the school, there are a high proportion of pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and a significant number of pupils receive additional Pupil Premium funding.

Our partner Secondary school is located in Moston and can be accessed via the M60 motorway. Neighbouring areas Oldham, Rochdale and central Manchester have accessible routes to the school. For non drivers, there is a train station within a five minute walk from the school and a number of other public transportation links that provide a direct route to the school.
