Early Years Teaching Assistant
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
We are currently seeking an Early Years Teaching Assistant with strong experience supporting reception pupils. Our direct feedback from schools has been that young pupils have forgotten how to play and have become nervous on their return back to school. This is why we are recruiting candidates who have Play Leader training and can bring support for play based activities.
We would like the successful candidate to have strong experience with ASC, ADHD and Absconding. Key training we look out for is MAPA, Team-Teach, Verbal De-escalation or SEND Level 1 and/or 2. Other training will be considered.
We are particularly keen to speak to experienced Nurture Support Assistants, Nursery Nurses, SEN Teaching Assistants, EYFS Specialists and Foundation Learning Assistants.
Key requirements:
- Ability to support vulnerable and/or disadvantaged pupils
- Ability to support absconding pupils
- Relevant qualification – minimum NVQ Level 2
- Sound experience with Special Education Needs and EYFS/Reception
- X2 Contactable references
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (Registered with the DBS Update Service) – This can be purchased through TP if you do not currently have one.
If you know you can provide a safe learning environment for SEN primary children, please contact Megan on the details provided.
Why TP? Candidate Review: "From the first meeting, the Plymouth Staff have been professional, helpful, supportive and efficient. Teaching Personnel have been exceptional within the Covid-19 pandemic. Wherever they can, they are totally on top of the latest news and inform supply staff immediately of any changes. I believe they were one of the first to Furlough supply staff. They are supportive, loyal and realistic, forming an excellent working environment. Needless to say, I would totally recommend them."
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
