Job description

EYFS Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm

We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our lovely school community near Garstang.

This role is full-time, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, starting 23rd February 2026, for a fixed term of 12 months, with the view to transferring onto a school contract.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide high-quality support across Pre-School and Reception, working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage

  • Support learning through play and planned activities in line with the EYFS framework

  • Work collaboratively as part of a successful and experienced Early Years team

  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development

  • Be confident in liaising with parents and carers, contributing positively to strong home–school relationships

  • Help create a nurturing, safe and stimulating learning environment

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working within EYFS (Pre-School or Reception experience desirable)

  • Is warm, patient and enthusiastic about early years education

  • Communicates confidently and professionally with parents and colleagues

  • Works well as part of a team and shows initiative

  • Is supportive of the ethos and values of our faith school

Start date: 23rd February 2026

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment practices.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
