ear 5 Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 3:15pm

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join our lovely school community near Garstang.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:15pm, starting 23rd February 2026, for a fixed term of 12 months, with the view to transferring onto a school contract.

About the Role

This is an academic support role, where the successful candidate will:

• Act as the main Teaching Assistant within a Year 5 classroom

• Provide high-quality classroom support to enhance teaching and learning

• Support pupils individually and in small groups, including targeted interventions

• Help create a positive, inclusive and purposeful learning environment

• Work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to support pupil progress and attainment

• Has experience working with children in KS2 (Year 5 experience desirable)

• Is patient, proactive and committed to supporting children’s learning

• Has strong communication and teamwork skills

• Can promote high standards of behaviour and engagement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
