Early Career Teacher
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with a number of secondary schools across Oldham to recruit Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for supply, temporary and permanent teaching roles.
These opportunities suit newly qualified teachers who are looking to gain experience across different school settings, secure longer‑term posts, or find the right permanent role to complete their Early Career Framework in a supportive environment. Roles are available across a range of subjects, with flexibility to suit individual preferences and career plans.
We work closely with Oldham schools to match ECTs to settings that fit their subject specialism, confidence level and long‑term goals. Whether you are looking for short‑term supply to build experience, a fixed‑term contract, or an ECT‑friendly permanent role, we can support you.
Roles may include:
- Day‑to‑day supply teaching
- Long‑term cover roles (half‑term, term or full academic year)
- Maternity and sickness cover
- Permanent posts with ECT induction support
You can expect:
- Placements in Oldham secondary schools across KS3 and KS4
- Appropriate support for behaviour management and classroom routines
- Clear expectations and transparent communication around each role
- Opportunities to gain experience in different school environments or settle into one setting
This opportunity is suited to teachers who:
- Hold QTS and have recently completed, or are completing, their teacher training
- Are seeking supply, temporary or permanent work in Oldham
- Want to build confidence and experience early in their teaching career
- Are flexible, professional and committed to high standards of teaching
What Teaching Personnel offer:
- Access to a range of ECT‑friendly schools in Oldham
- Supply, fixed‑term and permanent opportunities
- Guidance on completing the Early Career Framework
- Ongoing consultant support and honest advice
- PAYE pay with no umbrella company involvement
Roles are available immediately and for upcoming starts, including September.
