Dyslexia Specialist Teacher required!

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a Nottingham City based client who are looking for a Fully Qualified Teacher (ideally with SENCO qualifications) for a maternity post after Easter 2017. The role is part time - approximately 1.5 days per week.

The post will involve assessing students to establish what educational levels they are currently working at, in addition to delivering cross-curricular subjects to help raising attainment. The post will specifically require the teacher to work with students in mainstream schools who have SEN including ADHD, Dyslexia, ASC and Learning Difficulties so some SEN knowledge/experience is preferred.

The role will involve travelling across Nottingham City to a variety of provisions depending on where the child attends their educational provision, therefore full driving licence with access to a car is essential.

The ideal candidate for this post will be:

  • A Fully Qualified Teacher (any Key Stage and subject Specialism)
  • Qualified SENCO (Desirable but NOT essential)
  • Experience dealing with SEN children within either mainstream OR SEN provisions
  • Flexible to travel across the city and take on a varied caseload of pupils
  • Experienced carrying out assessments on pupils to identify their current educational ability and potential to achieve higher attainment levels.
  • Confident to differentiate work to a range of ages and abilities
  • Able to confidently liaise with a variety of schools and professionals

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
