Temporary Maternity post

January 2021

This is an exciting opportunity for a vibrant Drama teacher near Waterlooville to teach KS3. The role would predominantly cover Drama, though the ability to Teach KS3 Music would be advantageous as there will be some contact time within the Music department required.

This is an opportunity to work in an outstanding school with an excellent reputation both locally and nationally. The school promote values and ethos in line with their catholic school status and though not a requirement of the role, you should be willing to embrace and respect the values whilst within school.

Covering a maternity post, the expectation of the school is that you will be heavily involved in all areas of the absent teachers position including preparation, feedback, form tutoring and PSHE delivery. You will need to be able to cope with the workload of creating unique lessons and keeping up with marking of work and progress from students and development of knowledge.

In order to be considered for this post, you will need to:

  • Hold QTS or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualifications.
  • Be able to teach Secondary school KS3 Drama (and music ideally)
  • Have a good knowledge of the current National Curriculum.
  • Have high expectations of achievement and behaviour and always strive to get the best out of your students.
  • Have your own transport to and from the school in Waterlooville.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
