Location: Durham

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: £90 - £110

We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisors. This position suits individuals seeking to gain educational experience or those with genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people's academic growth.

Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students engage with set tasks while maintaining a positive classroom environment. Your key duties include overseeing student behaviour, helping when necessary, and ensuring students remain on task throughout lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students across various subjects during teacher absences
  • Maintain student focus and ensure completion of assigned work
  • Promote positive conduct and manage classroom dynamics in line with school policies
  • Assist students with their learning, providing support as required
  • Communicate student engagement and any issues to teaching staff following sessions
  • Follow safeguarding and health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive environment
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs and create an inclusive atmosphere

Who We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience with young people, ideally in educational settings (though not essential)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students and staff
  • Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively and fairly
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • Genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
