Cover Supervisor

Location: Durham

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary

Salary: £90 - £110

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Cover Supervisors. This position suits someone wanting to build experience in education or who has genuine passion for supporting young people's educational development.

Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during teacher absences, ensuring students engage with assigned tasks while maintaining a constructive classroom atmosphere. Your primary duties involve managing student conduct, helping when required, and keeping students focused throughout lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee students across different subjects when teachers are unavailable
  • Ensure pupils remain focused and complete teacher-assigned work
  • Encourage positive behaviour and handle classroom dynamics according to school policies
  • Support students with their studies, offering guidance as needed
  • Report to teachers on student participation and any challenges encountered during sessions
  • Adhere to safeguarding and health and safety procedures to maintain a secure and effective environment
  • Assist students with additional learning requirements and foster an inclusive setting

Who We're Looking For:

  • Prior experience working with young people, preferably in educational environments (though not mandatory)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with students and colleagues
  • Capability to handle classroom behaviour effectively and consistently
  • Solid organizational abilities and proactive mindset
  • Dedication to safeguarding and advancing children's wellbeing
  • Passion for supporting students in reaching their goals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
