£55 - £70 per annum

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Are you an individual who is looking to pursue a career in the education sector?

Working as a Cover Supervisor is a great way to get your foot in the door.

Secondary schools in Thurrock are looking for Cover Supervisors to work within their schools. This role would suit a confident graduate who has previous experience (in a voluntary capacity or otherwise) working with students perhaps in a secondary school, primary school or youth work setting or a confident individual who has experience working within a school environment. The successful applicant will be motivated and able to converse, liaise and engage with people of all ages including pupils aged 11 - 16, fellow colleagues and teachers.

Highlights of the cover supervisor role:

  • Get paid for delivering pre-set work in a secondary school
  • Pay range between to £275-£350 a week - PAYE (depending on experience)
  • Gain valuable experience working in a secondary school setting - to support a future PGCE application

The role of a cover supervisor is to deliver pre-set work in the absence of the classroom teacher. The role commands a certain level of flexibility as you may be delivering and supervising classes varying in size, ability and age. You may also be at various schools in the Thurrock area so the networking opportunities are not only endless but the experience you will gain is perfect for an inspirational teacher. The successful cover supervisor will be covering a range of subjects to gain a full 360 degree, well rounded experience.

  • Work alongside professional teachers, gaining unparalleled experience of working within a school
  • Opportunity to network within the school setting and set yourself up for a future in education

This role would also suit a more experienced cover supervisor - someone who has previously fulfilled the role in a secondary school or someone who is passionate about working within a secondary school.

This is an excellent chance to join Teaching Personnel's team of teaching staff and deliver a professional and quality learning experience to young minds.

If you think you would be a well suited fit and you would like to apply for one of these positions then please do not hesitate to send your CV to me at the Chelmsford Branch of Teaching Personnel.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
