If you are a graduate or final year student with aspirations of becoming a secondary teacher but lack the required classroom based experience, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The Headteacher of this diverse and inclusive secondary school in Wigan is looking to recruit a graduate to join their support team from January as a Cover Supervisor on flexible basis to cover lessons in the absence of class teachers. The school are due to have a lot of planned and unplanned short term absences across the school from Janurary to July.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

-          Cover a range of lessons in the absence of teachers for short term sickness, training days or when teachers require time away for planning and marking

-          Delivering pre-set work to a class of pupils and ensuring they remain on task with this

-          Taking the register at the start of the lesson

-          Managing classroom behaviour when necessary

-          Collecting the completed work and handing it back to the cover manager

-          Fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience if considering a career in teaching!

Key aspects of the Cover Supervisor role:

  • Flexible role to work around your availability – starting ASAP!
  • Become a valued member of the schools support team as you will be prioritised for covering lessons at this particular secondary in Wigan for the remainder of the academic year.
  • 9am-3pm
  • Earning GBP300 per week!

  • Accessible from in and around of Wigan including areas of Bolton, Chorley and Skelmersdale, via the M61, M6 M58 and local transport links.
