Cover Supervisor

Job description

A mainstream secondary school based in the outskirts of the Southampton area, around the New Forest area, are looking for a full time Cover Supervisor to start with them in January 2019. A cover supervisor is a excellent learning experience for graduates or aspiring teachers to gain experience working within classroom.

The school are a "Outstanding school" as graded by Ofsetd in 2017 and have been one of the highest ac hiving schools for the last 5 years. The school provide excellent support to all of its staff, with the school being a teacher training school, teacher training would be a offer for the right candidate.

Whilst experience working within a secondary school or working with secondary school and sixth form students is not essential, the ideal candidate will need to exhibit:

  • The ability to manage a group of children and coping with the challenging behaviour of the students
  • The ability to establish a good working relationship with the students, teaching staff, and parents
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum for secondary and sixth form aged pupils
  • A good understanding of numeracy, writing and literacy skills
