Cover Supervisor

Cover lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher

Do you have experience working in a secondary school or have you supported young people in a different capacity? Would you be interested in providing short-term day to day cover for absent teachers on a supply basis in Secondary schools? 

We are currently seeking to recruit a number of cover supervisors to provide a pool of supply staff for a cluster of schools within the Oldham area.  You will essentially be working as an unqualified teacher, providing emergency cover and delivering the work already set by the absent teacher.  You will need to be available at short-notice to travel to one of five different schools in close proximity to Oldham.  Bookings for cover supervisors tend to be made on the day itself, so you will need to up and ready from 7pm onwards awaiting our call.  Applications from people who are available 5 days a week and who can drive and have their own car are particularly welcome given the nature of this work.

Those who carry out cover supervisor work will benefit from the following:

-A competitive daily pay-rate of between GBP57 and GBP80 depending on experience

-Excellent school-based experience relevant for teacher training applications

-Flexible working arrangements with the option to be ruled out of working when needed

Applicants seeking to put themselves forward for this work will need to have:

-A degree or equivalent qualification and experience working in a secondary school in some capacity

-The ability to build a rapport with young people quickly

-A flexible and adaptable approach to work
