History Teacher needed at Ofsted good, secondary school in Stockport, this is a full-time position starting in January covering a planned maternity leave. Planning and marking are involved in the role as well as attending parents’ evenings and department meetings.

  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£28,000 - £43,685)
  • Work in an Ofsted outstanding school
  • Must hold QTS in History
  • Suitable for ECT’s/NQT’s

In their last Ofsted report, the school’s leadership were described as being dedicated in their pursuit of excellence. The pupils display first-rate attitudes and behaviour in classrooms and around the school. The institution is said to be a harmonious place to learn with each department being a close-knit team who share the same high standards.

The school are looking for someone to add to their Humanities team, the applicant will be expected to teach History up to KS4. You will need to display outstanding subject knowledge as well as a high level of adaptability to accommodate pupils with different learning styles.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the school’s high quality support staff to help identify any students that would benefit from receiving extended support
  • Look to raise attainment across your cohort, devising new plans to help with your students’ academic achievement
  • Work with students with SEN, ensuring they have the appropriate work set and are receiving the right level of support
  • Deliver high quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum and set valuable homework tasks that encourage students to participate in their own research
  • Uphold school standards at all times especially those regarding behaviour, bullying and academic achievement
