Teaching personnel is currently recruiting for a science teacher to join the science department at one of our all-boys client schools in Tameside. This position will start in September, it will be a full-time role and for the right candidate there is the potential to be permanently contracted.

The pay for this position is in line with the Teacher pay scale (£28,000 to £43,685 per annum).

The main responsibilities of this position are:

  • To create lesson plans covering all sciences: biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • To ensure that any practical experiments are completed in a safe manner.
  • Create engaging lesson plans.
  • Monitor the progress of students, being able to give timely feedback to students, parents, and other department staff members.

The school is located in Tameside and is easily commutable from Stalybridge, Ashton-Under-Lyne and the surrounding areas. This school is an all-boys school, admitting pupils between the ages of 11 and 16. This school currently has an Ofsted rating of 2, meaning that it is considered to be a ‘good’ school. The proportion of students who are eligible for free school meals is slightly below the national average, the proportions of pupils who require additional SEN support is around 3% higher than the national average. 54% of their students are currently leaving year 11 with a grade 5 or higher in both English and Maths, this is 8% higher than the local average.

For this position it is essential that you are a qualified teacher, you can be experienced or newly qualified. You must have a good understanding of the sciences to be able to teach effectively. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
