Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Cover Supervisor for a school based in the Glossop area with a population of 1200 students. You will find plenty of students willing to learn and develop you will be able to make a real impact on their academic studies and attitude towards learning.

Ideally you will need to be flexible to be able to cover multiple areas of the school curriculum across KS3/KS4 where necessary.

There is a recognition that students have different interests, abilities and needs and the school’s broad and flexible curriculum reflects this. You will be joining a staff team who are qualified and experienced in ensuring that students achieve their full potential regardless of their starting points.

There is a strong support structure in place in this school providing support including:

  • Referrals to appropriate external agencies, behaviour support, school counsellor
  • Mentoring and Peer Support
  • Use of Reports
  • Introduction of Learning Support in lessons
  • Anger Management
  • Social Skills
  • Listening skills
  • Solution-focused discussion
  • Cognitive behavioural techniques
  • Raising self-esteem
  • Coping strategies

Applicants with a degree may be asked to provide specialised 1:1 intervention with students who may be falling behind in their studies. The additional provision is usually implemented when students face challenging circumstances and need additional support to significantly improve their behaviour and attitude towards learning. We guarantee this will leave you confident in the knowledge that any teaching and support you provide will be fully endorsed by the school leadership team.
