Job description

Are you a  graduate considering a career in education? Do you want to gain valuable classroom experience while working flexibly around your schedule?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Sutton Coldfield who are looking for confident and enthusiastic Graduate Cover Supervisors to support them on both a day-to-day and medium-term basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are exploring a future in teaching, education, psychology, or youth work, and want to gain hands-on classroom experience.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of the teacher. Work will be pre-set and you will ensure students remain on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising whole classes across a range of subjects

  • Delivering pre-planned lesson materials

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Supporting students to stay engaged with their learning

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff after lessons

What We’re Looking For

  • A graduate (any subject)

  • Confident communication and classroom presence

  • A genuine interest in working with young people

  • School-based experience is desirable (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support)

  • Reliable, adaptable and professional

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
