Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Tamworth is seeking a reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain valuable classroom experience. Flexible and full-time work is available, making it suitable for those looking for consistent work or more adaptable schedules.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans

  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies

  • Supporting students to stay focused and complete their work

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

  • Ensuring a safe and positive classroom environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (schools, coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.)

  • Strong communication and classroom management skills

  • Confidence leading a classroom and engaging students

  • A positive, adaptable and proactive attitude

  • School-based experience is desirable but not essential

Ideal for a graduate looking to get practical and paid experience in schools!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
