Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools (Salford)

Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Location: Salford, Greater Manchester
Position Type: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible Day-to-Day

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in secondary schools? Do you have strong communication skills and the confidence to lead a classroom? We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to support a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Salford.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals seeking flexible work or a pathway into teaching.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning and ensuring a positive classroom environment. Work can be flexible based on your avilability, with a starting daily rate of £92 upwards. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising whole classes during teacher absences
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons and instructions
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Supporting students to stay engaged and on task
  • Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour

We are looking for:

  • Experience working with young people (schools, youth work, coaching, etc.)
  • Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work
  • A passion for education and supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
