We are recruiting Graduate Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Oldham from September 2026.

This role is ideal for graduates considering a career in secondary teaching, education, youth work or psychology, who are looking to gain paid classroom experience before committing to teacher training.

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classrooms during short‑term teacher absence, following pre‑set work and maintaining a positive learning environment.


Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in secondary schools
  • Deliver pre‑planned work set by the class teacher
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure pupils remain focused and engaged
  • Gain hands‑on experience in a secondary school setting
  • Build confidence managing groups of students

No lesson planning or marking required.


Candidate Requirements

This role is suitable for:

  • Graduates in any subject
  • Aspiring teachers and future PGCE candidates
  • Individuals with strong communication and classroom presence
  • Candidates considering long‑term careers in education

Previous classroom experience is not essential.
