Join a large secondary school in Manchester, seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor from September.

The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for covering lessons in the short term absence of teaching staff, working across a range of departments and years groups. They will liaise directly with teaching staff with regards to work set for the classes and will deliver the appropriate work to classes of between 20 – 30 students. The successful Cover Supervisor will then be responsible for collecting the completed work and reporting back, as appropriate, on the behaviour of students during the class.

We are looking for a confident and resilient individual who is able to manage classroom behaviour appropriately, whilst responding to any questions or queries from students.

In addition to covering whole classes, the successful candidate will also provide in class support across school and will support students with Special Educational Needs outside of the classroom when appropriate.

To apply for this role, applicants must:

• Have experience working with young people aged 11-16
• Be able to think on their feet and use their initiative
• Have a strong classroom presence
• Have a C or above in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
• Have a good understanding of Safeguarding policies and procedures

This large mainstream secondary school is located in South Manchester and is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas. For those who drive, the school is easily accessible by the M60 ring road or the M56 motorway.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
