Cover Supervisor - Graduates gain school based experience

Are you a recent graduate looking for paid classroom experience in a Secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are working as the sole provider of supply requirements for The Astrea Academy Trust. The Astrea Academy Trust is a 25 strong Multi Academy Trust with 21 academies in South Yorkshire, covering Doncaster, Rotherham, Dearne, Barnsley and Sheffield.

We are seeking to employ a cover supervisor on a temporary basis, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to gain a permanent position at one of the Astrea secondary schools based in the Dearne area. The school has improved significantly over the recent years, through hard work and determination.

• Paid experience in a classroom prior to starting a teacher training course
• Applications accepted from recent graduates
• Full time working hours, although there is potential for flexibility on days and hours
• Cover supervisor pay (£325-£400 per week- depending on experience)

Whilst working as a cover supervisor, you should:

• Be able to support learners in the absence of the classroom teacher
• Ensure set work is completed by all pupils
• Have excellent behaviour management skills
• Be able to build and maintain strong, effective relationships with young people

The ideal candidate should be a confident, motivated and professional individual and have experience working with learners. There will be many transferable skills from a range of different occupations such as a sports coach and youth work.
