As we approach the new academic year in September, one of our client schools in Tameside is looking to appoint a number of tutors to begin working on a part time basis for the new academic year in September. In particular, there is emphasis being placed on the core subjects, preparing students for exams as well as developing exam technique.

Applications are welcomed from graduates (who hold tuition experience) as well as those who have worked within a similar capacity previously. Additionally, applications are encouraged from those who are considering enrolling onto a teacher training course in the future and are wanting to develop their school based experience. This presents itself as an excellent opportunity to develop skills in engaging young people, working on an individual and often small group basis.

Other highlights of the role include:

  • Working in partnership with full time teaching staff, sharing ideas and discussing development ideas based on individual students.
  • Providing support with regards to specific topics and setting engaging in sessions tasks.
  • Working on a pastoral basis when required.
  • Implementing strategies designed to enhance student understanding, as well as ensuring that students remain focused and on task.
  • Managing student behaviour, whilst being able to create positive working relationships with students from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The school is located in Tameside, and is therefore easily accessible from Manchester city centre. Applications are also welcomed from those in Stockport, Oldham and The High Peak.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
