Communication and Language support Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistants for our client schools across the Tameside area. You will have experience working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and small groups of children who have been identified to have speech and language communication needs. This schools we work with have a large percentage of children on the SEN register and the children start school below national average in terms of their learning development. Therefore the school requires support staff to work with the Literacy co-ordinator and SENCO to help implement strategies to raise attainment for children in EYFS, KS1 & Lower KS2 with language difficulties.

Key things:

• Experience supporting children in a primary school setting
• A proactive confident communicator
• Experience implementing speech and language programmes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are paramount!

This role is ideal for a teaching assistant who has some experience of implementing speech and language therapy or interventions to children, ideally in a primary school setting. The speech and language teaching assistant role will include some 1-1 support in class as well as small group support for children in reception class up to year 4.
